  1. Tom

These worked great for me! We had to fix all the wires in the front end of my 4 wheeler mice chewed. These did the job perfect! They are super low profile. I’ll keep this kit in the truck w a heat gun for emergency repairs on trailers which are inevitable.

  2. Alexander PendragonAlexander Pendragon

I’ve never used heat shrink splices before, but these were very effective.

  3. Trevor Scott

I needed a ton of butt joints for my boat I just re-wired completely with 14 awg ancor wire on every circuit, all I really needed. These little connectors are awesome! They really do work. You MUST use a butane torch or lighter to seal them up and melt the solder IMO. Using a regular bic type lighter will scorch the plastic and make it harder to to melt the solder and see what you’re doing overall. Butane torch 100% and you’ll love them. Every solder connection I made is just perfect and I probably have 50+ of them in the boat. Having every butt joint soldered and sealed tight in my re-wired boat is just amazing. I also love that the colored adhesive is farther up into the sleeve than other options. I don’t write reviews. But this product compelled me to do so. Buy them. It’s a no brainer.

  4. Bigtrain3751

A few of them really had trouble flowing properly, but the rest were fine. Just be prepared with some extra wire slack to cut and resplice if need be.

  5. Kevin taurick

I love these things I just wish I could find them in bigger sizes

  6. M. Fischer

I’ll preface this review by stating that I could not get these to work as expected but I could have been doing something wrong. Let’s start off with the good.Inserting the wires and having them meet in the middle of the solder blob works as expected. Using an industrial heat gun on the low setting, it took a while for the solder to melt. As the solder was melting, I could see the heat shrink tubing shrink as expected. And now for the bad, while the heat shrink tubing was shrinking and before the solder fully melted, the tubing started to melt. Needless to say, I had to start over since the insulation was compromised.I will try again once i have more time and patience. Perhaps this will work better for you. For me, while ore work, I think I would rather join the wires with a traditional solder joint and then slide heat shrink tubing over it.

This item can be quite valuable however you have to have exactly the proper heating method. I tried several different ways to do it and the plastic continued to melt despite feathering things in. It does eventually melt the low temperature solder.

  8. Don Swearingen

Takes too much heat to melt solder. Could be a great idea if it only worked correctly. I used small butane torch. Should be plenty of heat.

  9. Carol

Used to repair worn wires for car backup lights. Worked well.

  10. Thomas Sydlo

These are by far the best I’ve ever used. Will purchase again when needed.

I work on mercedes for a living and this is one of their suggested wiring fixes. They sell their connectors for like 7 bucks a piece, these work just as good and significantly cheaper. The key is lower heat for a bit longer. Too much heat too quick will melt the exterior before the solder.

  17. Matthew

Easy to use, simply spice wires together and let the heat gun do all the work.

They worked perfectly. Easy to install. Solder melts easily. Seals Great!! Remains flexible.

  20. Paul

These work really good for a fast solder joint. You have to watch because if you don’t melt them just right you will not get a good connection. The shrink wrap is excellent, the glue ring is not going to leak on you if you use it on the right size wires.

  21. Michael Powell

Love this product and will buy again when I run out

I am very happy with these! They’re a huge improvement over traditional crimped connectors. My first project with these was installing a car stereo and they worked perfectly…NO wondering if you get a solid connection with these because you can SEE the solder melting in the wires and know the end result would be good. For this first installation with these, great sound and no hissing, noise or interference. I have an engine wiring harness to piece back together and I’ll definitely be using these. HIGHLY Recommend!!

  26. Vincent M. Whittaker

I love these things. I got the whole set and had to buy extras for this size. Using a heat gun you can solder and seal the wires while joining them. Water tight, great for marine applications. I will never go back to old way of soldering again. Make sure you buy a heat gun that has the extra shields.

These work great except the yellow size 10 gage I think. They have a little problem soldering. The blue and pink work great. You can use a BBQ lighter to assemble.

Was very useful for doing my trucks wiring and seems like they are going to last. 10/10 will buy again.

    Works as it suppose to

  38. Rick

These are easy to use. I use these all the time instead on the old style butt connectors. The connect is very solid.

Wish I would have ordered these a long time ago. Even with my cheap heat gun they worked great.

  42. Thecook

We do low voltage LED wiring in exterior signs. Corrosion in the wire connections causes lighting failures. These connectors give you a solder joint and a heat shrink covering in one easy process. I recommend buying a heat gun that has adjustable temperature and a small size air output tube. These can be used with a standard heat gun but with the right heat tool they are easier and faster to install. These would be excellent for marine connections.

Seems as though there are some issues with QA. Several of the connectors were defective and were missing glue or missing all the components as you can see in the pic. Overall it was only a few, but be cautious when you use them and check. Time will see if the rest of these hold up.

  45. Paul

  46. Dave8383

Why didn’t I invent these. They make life so Much easier. Watching the solder melt is fun too. If you’re sick of not getting a secure connection with tape or crimping. This method is so much better.a little heat and whalaa.

I found these were a little hard to use, but they were fine overall. The solder didn’t always flow well, and I burned through the plastic casing a few times (probably user error, lol) They arrived very fast, and were well packaged.

  55. Livinthedream

These are exactly what I was looking for I use these out side and was worried if they would get hot enough for a lighter to melt the solder, it works like a champ! would highly recommend.

  56. Paul

never fail, tough. another reason to own a heat gun.

This was my first time using them. They worked amazing I found it easier to use a butane torch rather than a heat gun. And I found it was easier to do if I shrink both ends before a shrink the middle. I don’t think I will ever use anything else from now on.

Some of the smaller tubes were already shrunk from one end. Manufacturing defect? Not that great of quality. Will not order these again.

I liked it works better when you twist the wires together then melt it ! Let cool tug to make sure connections good and ship it !!
